For World Cancer Day, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network ® (NCCN ® ), American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), and the National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF) are announcing three key areas of policy focus as part of the Alliance for Cancer Care Equity (ACCE) joint collaboration, including advancing diversity in clinical trials, improving cancer screening and early detection, and increasing access to patient navigation. The organizations are also working with Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL) to observe the day with a congressional resolution.

HAGATNA, GUAM – February 1, 2024 – Lawmakers held a public hearing on a bill aimed at reducing tobacco use in Guam, Thursday afternoon. Bill No. 229-37 is currently being considered by the Committee on Environment, Revenue and Taxation, Labor, Procurement, and Statistics, Research and Planning. If enacted, the bill would prohibit the sale of all flavored tobacco products, including menthol and e-cigarettes in Guam.

Our 25 organizations, representing patients with serious health conditions and providers who care for them, urge the Supreme Court to reverse the Fifth Circuit’s decision in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine et al. v FDA et al. because it threatens patients’ and providers’ ability to rely on Food and Drug Administration (FDA) decisions about drug safety.
