Tobacco 21: Raising the purchasing age from 18 to 21

South Dakota seeks to raise the legal sale age for tobacco products and e-cigarettes from 18 to 21 years of age. By raising the legal sale age for these products, we aim to decrease the burden of tobacco-related illness and healthcare costs to the citizens and prevent youth from ever starting to use tobacco products in South Dakota.
