Statewide Smoke-Free Workplaces

Since 2007, Louisiana has failed to close the gap in its smoke-free workplaces law at the state level that allows bars and gaming establishments to continue to put the health of thousands of workers and patrons at risk with exposure to secondhand smoke. Only 23% of Louisiana residents are covered by a comprehensive smoke-free law. Louisiana’s hospitality workers are particularly affected by the harmful effects of secondhand smoke. ACS CAN firmly believes that no one should have to choose between their health and a paycheck.
