ACS CAN Continues to Urge Progress on Medicaid Expansion That Would Benefit 600,000 North Carolinians

June 22, 2022

RALEIGH, NC – June 22, 2022 – A new series of advertisements paid for by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) that launched last week will be paused following recent progress in the House to expand Medicaid.

The below is a statement on behalf of ACS CAN North Carolina.

“Following new progress in recent days on Medicaid expansion in the North Carolina House of Representatives, we have paused the television advertising component of our campaign calling out key lawmakers. ACS CAN North Carolina is committed to advocating on behalf of those impacted by cancer in North Carolina and we will continue to monitor developments on this critical issue. Our hope is to air new advertisements very soon expressing our gratitude to lawmakers for standing up for 600,000 North Carolinians and their families across the state. However, we are also prepared to restart the current advertisements if necessary.”
