Reader's View: Where do Johnson, Walz stand on cancer?

Those of us who read the letters to the editor in the News Tribune know how political every issue seems to be. Each side accuses the other. That's why it is so important to hear what the candidates say on each issue.
As a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, I'm proud the network made the effort to asked both candidates for governor to respond to three key questions about the government's role in treating and preventing cancer. Jeff Johnson and Tim Walz both provided answers.

Cancer is a terrible disease that attacks Democrats, Republicans, independents, and non-voters alike. Everyone I know has been touched in some way by cancer. This is personal to all of us.
