Jennifer (Jennie) Coston has been involved with ACS CAN since 2011 and with the American Cancer Society for over 15 years volunteering for Relay For Life and Making Strides. She was also part of the Relay For Life ACS CAN Integration team and in 2015 was one of the ACS Volunteers of the Year. Jennie is a special education teacher working with adults ages 18-26. Free time is spent with her three children watching them play sports and traveling

Why is being an ACS CAN volunteer important to you?

My mom is here thanks to a government funded program (BCCCNP).  ACS CAN allows me to impact legislation in addition to research funding. My voice matters!

Why should others in your community get involved in ACS CAN?

It gives them the opportunity to impact state and federal legislation by joining their voices with thousands of other volunteers.  They will change the lives of people they may never meet.

What is your proudest accomplishment as an ACS CAN volunteer?

Being part of the Michigan team when we won the team advocacy award in 2014.  We are capable of overcoming any and all obstacles when we all work towards the same goal.
