At Lobby Day, advocates will share their stories with our lawmakers in an effort to help them understand how important passing policies that impact the fight against cancer is to us, their constituents. This annual event is energizing, exciting and personally rewarding.
This year's event will be virtual, and we will be setting up virtual meetings with leglislators for all registered participants. ACS CAN believes that the color of your skin, who you love, or how much you make shouldn't dictate if you live or the treatment you recieve. With that in mind, the focus of this year's event will be on expanding access to care for cancer patients in Massachusetts. Specifically, we will be asking our legislators to support:
- An Act related to step therapy and patient safety - SB.756 sponsored by Senator Julian Cyr and HB.1311 sponsored by Representatives Jeffrey Roy and Marjorie Decker
- An Act empowering healthcare consumers - SB.642 sponsored by Senator Brendon Crighton and HB.1069 sponsored by Representative William Driscoll
If this is your first time attending Lobby Day or your 10th time, we will ensure you have the support and training you need to be a successful advocate. All you need to participate is a passion for ending cancer and a willingness to share your story.
