Fifty-one years after the landmark National Cancer Act was signed into law by President Nixon, public policy continues to play a critical role in advancing biomedical research. From public funding of cancer research to improved access to cutting-edge therapies, state and federal policy have pushed cancer research forward. But gaps remain, inequities persist and opportunities abound.

Join ACS CAN for a wide-ranging, virtual discussion about the role state and federal policymakers can play in advancing more therapies and, ultimately, more cures.

Event Speakers & Panelists:

  • Angela B. Freeman, M.S., J.D., Barnes & Thornburg (Moderator)
  • Kelvin Lee, MD, Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center
