Cancer Research Across Minnesota

Wednesday, August 18, 2021 - 12:00pm
Zoom

Pre-Registration has now closed. You may register day-of at acscan.windrosemedia.com.

Join ACS CAN Minnesota and partners on Wednesday, August 18 for a discussion on access to cancer research and clinical trial across Minnesota, and what researchers need to ensure all patients can equitably access the latest innovations in cancer care and treatment.

Every new breakthrough in freeing the world from the pain and suffering of cancer - from new cures to innovative ways to prevent and treat the disease - have one thing in common; the research was in some way funded by the federal government's National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute.  This virtual event will discuss Community Oncology Research Programs (NCORP), the impact that NIH and NCI funding has on our state, and why it's critical Congress continue to increase funding for cancer research.

Event Speakers:

  • Daniel M. Anderson, M.D., M.P.H, Principal Investigator, Metro-Minnesota Community Oncology Research Consortium
  • Bret E. Friday, Ph.D., M.D., Principal Investigator, Essentia Health Community NCORP
  • Preston D. Steen, M.D., Principal Investigator, Sanford Community Cancer Program NCORP
  • Kelly Leibold, ACS CAN Minnesota volunteer
