We’re going virtual!

That’s right, our ACSCAN Montana's 2021 Virtual Cancer Action Week will be a virtual week of action right from the comfort of your home. Our Cancer Week of Action will kick off with the exciting and familiar feature highlight of meeting with lawmakers to advance our cancer fighting priorities.  The week will include opportunities to engage in social media activities, listen to keynote speakers, and more.

Before our event, we’ll send you everything you’ll need to be successful, including training about how to talk with lawmakers. This is an event you won’t want to miss!

Here is a training schedule.  We hope you will be able to join or listen to them all.  We will be hosting training on Thursday evenings and one Saturday morning (details below). 

All training will start at 6:00 pm MST and last approximately 45 minutes. 

January 7 @ 6 pm: How to testify before at the Legislature And How to make a good video short - 45 minutes
January 14 @ 6 pm: Understanding Appropriations - featuring Heather O'Loughlin, Montana Budget and Policy Center - 45 minutes
January 21 @  6 pm: Maximizing Letter to the Editor Opportunities - 30 min to 45 min - featuring Noe Streetman with Volunteer Advocate partner
January 28 @ 6 pm: Hook, Line, Sinker, Line - sharing your story featuring Keri Yoder and Leah Zins, And Issue and Ask Overview - featuring Kristin Page-Nei - 90 minutes

11:00 AM                         Expert Youth Panel – in partnership with ReACT; reACT is Montana’s teen-led movement  taking action to become the first-ever tobacco-free generation.

12:00 PM                         Expert Issue Update - In partnership with Montana Tobacco Use Prevention Program featuring Dr. Bonnie Halpern-Felsher, PHD, FSAHM.  Dr Halpern-Felsher is a Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University and she will present on the public health crisis of youth tobacco use.
