2023 Colorado Policy Forum – August 9, 2023

Policy Forum Focus: “Celebrating Champions … Celebrating Progress ... Celebrating Hope”

Featured Presentation: "Back to Basics: Improving Colorado's Declining Cancer Screening Rates"

ACS CAN is Hosting its 15th Annual Colorado Policy Forum, a premiere event that educates leaders from the public health, business, education, medical, government and research communities, to recognize legislative champions and to advance the work of ACS CAN. The event not only informs those who are fighting to end cancer, it serves to support ACS CAN and its advocacy work.

ACS CAN’s 2023 Policy Forum Featured Program will examine the recently reported decline in cancer screenings in Colorado and focus upon the tactics necessary to increase rates to pre-pandemic levels and beyond.  Pandemic-related disruptions exacerbated existing disparities in cancer screening and are likely to impact survival across groups of people who have systemically experienced social or economic obstacles to screening and care.

The 2023 Policy Forum will convene diverse stakeholders in the community – patient advocates, payors, health systems, business leaders, and lawmakers – to discuss exciting options in Colorado and plans to bring policy change.

The Policy Forum is being organized by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the nation’s largest patient advocacy organization, in partnership with stakeholders from the local cancer prevention community.  ACS CAN is a leader among nonprofits in Colorado in convening an annual policy forum dedicated to current and emerging policy issues that affect cancer patients and their caregivers throughout the state.
