2019 Los Angeles Policy Forum
The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) will host a forum to discuss the social determinants of health and the cancer connection.
Speakers Include:
Rigoberto Garcia, Director of Health Education at the Venice Family Clinic
Rigoberto has extensive experience working with underserved communities who often lack health insurance. He will focus on the important role that social determinants play in everyday life and the health risks associated with different communities.
David Ford, Cancer Survivor and Government Relations Manager at Southern California Edison
David will share his personal story and discuss the complexities and issues many patients experience when faced with a cancer diagnosis such as cost, emotional and social factors.
The event begins with a reception at 5:30 pm, followed by the program which begins at 6:10pm.
