The fight to stop the tobacco industry’s dangerous hold on our country’s health is ever-changing and demands strong, comprehensive public policy change.
CDC Launches Second Phase of Tips Campaign
In a post earlier this month, I hinted that the CDC would be launching a new set of ads for its Tips from Former Smokers campaign. The campaign is aimed at educating the public about the harmful effects of smoking and the difficulty of living with a medical condition caused by smoking. The first phase was highly successful at encouraging a significant increase in quit attempts and calls to Quit Lines. The second phase of the ads were officially announced this morning, and will be seen nationally beginning April 1. In support, I recorded a short video to commemorate the CDC's bold efforts to combat tobacco use.
