ACS CAN Praises Senate for Passing Tobacco 21

March 19, 2019

DOVER, DE - March 19, 2019- The Delaware State Senate today passed legislation (SB25) that would prohibit the sale of tobacco products to those younger than 21.

American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) Delaware Government Relations Director Jeanne Chiquoine released the following statement:

“Tobacco 21 is a sound measure. The longer we can keep youth away from tobacco products, the less likely they are to begin this deadly addiction. That’s why seven states have already enacted this law.

“We thank bill sponsors Senators Townsend and DelCollo for their leadership on this lifesaving legislation. This is a great first step. We now look forward to working with the General Assembly to protect our young people and save lives.”
