Today, the Illinois General Assembly passed a $1-per-pack tax increase on cigarettes sold in Illinois, establishing a $2.98-per-pack tax on cigarettes and a 15% wholesale tax on e-cigarettes. HARTFORD - The Connecticut Senate marked today, World No Tobacco Day, by voting in support of HB7200. This bill would increase the statewide age of sale for tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, from 18 to 21.
DENVER, Colo.—Jared Polis enacted legislation today (House Bill 1076) that adds e-cigarettes to Colorado’s statewide smoke-free law and prohibits their use in public places and workplaces. The new law takes effect July 1.

Sunday, June 2 is National Cancer Survivor Day. Salem Mayor Chuck Bennett, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and a bipartisan group of state lawmakers will honor local cancer survivors at a special event on June 6. Mayor Bennett will issue a proclamation for Cancer Survivor Day in Salem.
