On June 28th, the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council members had the opportunity to provide smoke-free air for all employees. Eight of the twelve council members chose to defer the vote on the smoke-free ordinance until August 9th, with two others choosing not to vote. Seven members of the council introduced the ordinance to expand upon the state's smoke-free law to include bars and casinos.
