On November 10, 2010, health advocates rallied in front of the State House to show their power as part of a Power of the Purse Rally. During the rally Advocates urged the Governor and the members of the Maryland General Assembly to restore funding for important life-saving cancer and tobacco control programs because they hold the purse strings.
