On January 30th, ACS CAN West Virginia held their annual Cancer Lobby Day. Despite the cold snowy morning, many volunteers met at the Capitol to talk to their laegislators about increasing tobacco education, and raising the purchasing age for tobacco products to 21. American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Sr. Director, Julie Hart, testifed this week to lawmakers on the importance of cancer fighting policies in the state. Cancer remains the second leading killer in New York. An estimated 111,870 state residents will be diagnosed with cancer this year. NY at a glance:
