Statement of American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network President Chris Hansen

January 28, 2016

WASHINGTON -- January 28, 2016 -- "The creation of the White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force is an important step that will allow experts at all relevant agencies to coordinate their knowledge and resources toward the common goal of eliminating death and suffering from this disease. We commend the vice president for his resolve and the president for his commitment to making a future with less cancer a reality. On behalf of the nearly 15 million cancer survivors and the 1.7 million Americans who will be diagnosed with cancer this year, we applaud the ambitious goal of doubling the rate of progress in the fight against cancer.ξ We look forward to opportunities that increase access to proven prevention and foster innovation that will yield lifesaving therapies."
