Cancer Advocates Gather for Hope Run 5K and Memorial

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Cancer patients, survivors and loved ones will gather Saturday at 6 p.m. for the first Hope Run to celebrate cancer survivorship and honor those who’ve passed away from the disease. Participants will also hold a touching luminary tribute display called Lights of Hope. The Lights of Hope display will offer visual opportunities for powerful b-roll, photos and visual content. Cancer survivors, patients and their loved ones will be available for interviews, including volunteers who just returned from Washington, D.C. where they met with Alabama's congressional delegation about research funding and policy.
Lights of Hope is the trademark fundraiser event for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the advocacy affiliate of the ACS. ACS CAN advocates at the local, state and federal level for funding and policies that help reduce the cancer burden and end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
