General Assembly to Recognize ACS CAN with Proclamation on House Floor
ATLANTA – Advocates with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) will gather under the Gold Dome on Wednesday, February 4, to mark World Cancer Day and advocate for improved access to care in the Peach State. Volunteers will be in various parts of the Capitol from 8 a.m. to 12:30, including a proclamation recognizing World Cancer Day on the House floor.
“There are already around 500,000 people in Georgia’s health care coverage gap and with the expiration of enhanced tax credits for Marketplace plans, we know hundreds of thousands more people are now without health insurance,” said Fabienne Antoine-Nasser, government relations director for ACS CAN in Georgia. “We implore lawmakers to come together and find a bipartisan solution to close the coverage gap in Georgia and will advocate for that on World Cancer Day at the Capitol.”
