American Cancer Society Official Testifies in House Committee on Importance of Health Apps, Software

WASHINGTON, D.C. November 19, 2013 The American Cancer Society's Deputy Chief Medical Officer J. Lenoard Lichtenfeld, MD, MACP, testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health today on the integral role health information technology, software programs and mobile apps play in the care of cancer patients. "Advances in cancer prevention, detection and treatment over the past 40 years have led to improved outcomes and even curative treatments for many types of cancers," Dr. Lichtenfeld stated in his testimony.
