Cancer Advocates Urge West Virginia Lawmakers to Pass Tobacco Prevention Measures on the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout® and National Rural Health Day

Elected officials across the state must do more to support residents of Louisiana who want to quit using tobacco products, say cancer patients, survivors, and advocates who are marking the American Cancer Society’s 48^th annual Great American Smokeout®. The Great American Smokeout is a day for people who use tobacco to create a plan to quit. 

For cancer patients and survivors caught in the coverage gap, we know access to health care means comprehensive coverage for cessation and other resources to help Mississippians with limited incomes successfully quit smoking, but it also means access to screening, medications, and life-saving treatment.

During American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout®, Cancer Patients, Survivors, and Advocates Urge Kentucky Lawmakers to Focus on Prevention and Cessation  

Elected officials across the state must preserve our smokefree workplace protections and do more to support residents of Wisconsin who want to quit using tobacco products, say cancer patients, survivors, and advocates who are marking the American Cancer Society’s 48^th annual Great American Smokeout® this Thursday. The Great American Smokeout is a day for people who use tobacco to create a plan to quit. 

Earlier today, the legislative sponsors of Senate Bill 954 and House Bill 1754 joined patient advocates, cancer survivors and medical leaders at the state Capitol and urged their colleagues in the House and Senate to support legislation improving Pennsylvanians’ access to biomarker testing.
