HARRISBURG, PA – October 16, 2018 – The Pennsylvania Senate is scheduled to vote on HB 1800 this week.

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society, urges voters to check ‘yes’ on Avon’s Ballot Issue 2B. It would raise taxes on cigarettes by $3 per pack and increase the price of other tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, by 40 percent.

American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) released a voter guide that details where the two major candidates for North Dakota’s United States Senate seat stand on three important federal policy issues that affect cancer prevention and treatment.

Today the U.S. Senate rejected a resolution under the Congressional Review Act that would have prevented the extension and expansion of short-term limited duration health insurance plans (STLD) as allowed under a new rule from the Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Treasury.
