ACS and ACS CAN Comments to the Advisory Committee on Immunizations (ACIP)
The American Cancer Society (ACS) and the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) are pleased to provide comments to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) in advance of the December 4th – 5th meeting. The ACS is a nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service. The ACS, operating through its national office and throughout the United States, is the largest voluntary health organization in the United States. ACS CAN is the nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society, supporting evidence-based policy and legislative solutions designed to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. ACS CAN is making cancer a top priority for public officials and candidates at the federal, state, and local levels, and empowering advocates across the country to make their voices heard and influence evidence-based public policy. ACS and ACS CAN represent and advocate for millions of cancer patients and their families.
We are pleased to submit comments to ACIP. Our comments focus on ensuring the childhood and adolescent immunization schedule is rooted in science-based policies that improve access and uptake of vaccines and achieve optimal vaccination rates.
