Medicaid is a Lifeline for Cancer Patients in Maine: A Storybook

Share

Proposed federal cuts to Medicaid will terminate health care for tens of thousands of Mainers who need it most–cancer patients, seniors, children, people with disabilities and working families. These are our friends, family, neighbors and pillars of our communities. Every year, around 8,600 Mainers are diagnosed with cancer. For many of them, like thosewho share their stories in this book, having healthinsurance through Medicaid means they can access the often lifesaving care they need. If Congress cuts Medicaid funding, Mainers with cancer could have their care interrupted or stopped completely, and many others would lose access to regular cancer screenings and prevention. These rushed and reckless cuts will have major implications on thehealth and lives of your constituents and harm Maine’s economy.
