Purpose of this study: You have been invited to join the Survivor Views research study. If you join, you will receive a set of surveys. These surveys will help us better understand your thoughts and experiences as a cancer survivor. The surveys may ask questions about access to care, cost of treatment, different types of cancer treatments, pain management, and healthy living.
Process: Today’s survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete. You may take the survey using a computer or a tablet/phone connected to the internet. After you finish this survey, you will be invited to take surveys up to once a month. All surveys will be online and will be short, no more than 10 minutes.
Risks: Taking these surveys poses no risk to you.
Privacy: The surveys are confidential. Any information that could identify you will be kept private. Survey results will be pooled across the group of respondents. If you choose to provide text answers to some questions, these may be shared, but will not be linked to your name or any information that would identify you.
Benefits: This study will not benefit you individually. The findings will help promote policies that help prevent, detect, and treat cancer, and to improve the lives of cancer survivors.
Compensation: There is no compensation for taking this survey. ACS CAN may provide items of small value to thank you for your time, such as gift cards or notebooks.
Use of study findings: The survey results may be shared with policy makers and used to inform the public about the opinions and experiences of cancer survivors. As noted above, results will be shared only in ways that will not identify you.
Alternatives: Joining this study is voluntary. If you do not wish to take the surveys, you may do nothing. If you do not join the study, it will not change your relationship with the American Cancer Society or ACS CAN.
Withdrawal: You may quit the study at any time by emailing [email protected] or clicking the unsubscribe link in any survey email.
