Community members and advocates, cancer survivors, physicians and scientists gathered for today’s 2016 annual Research Breakfast, sponsored by American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and MCW Cancer Center
Panel experts addressed cancer health disparities, removing barriers to clinical trials, accelerating research and improving research efficiency through data sharing and advocacy efforts to make an impact on all of these areas. They took time to answer audience questions.
Panelists included physicians Aronica V. Williams, MD, James Thomas, MD, PhD, and Paul Harker-Murray, MD, PhD; bioethicist Ryan Spellecy, PhD and editor and columnist Mikel Holt. Darrell “DJ” Hines II served as moderator.
After months of delay and hard negotiations, Congress has finally passed a funding bill! The bill includes a small increase for cancer research and prevention programs.
