Budget cuts limit access to screenings, will halt cancer research

Sequestration is now in effect, and the impact of its required, across-the-board funding cuts will soon be felt throughout the spectrum of cancer research and care. From research to screening to treatment, nothing is likely to be spared.

  • 32,000ξfewew mammograms will be givenξto women who need them
  • 1,400 promising medical research projects will be halted or left with no funding
  • Men and women will be turned away when going to receive colon cancer screenings
  • Fewer cancer patients will be able to participate in clinical trials
