Statement from American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) Government Relations Director Emily Kalmer

Jefferson City, MO - "Earlier this year, during his state of the state address, Gov. Parson committed to upholding the will of Missouri voters by funding Medicaid expansion. The legislature has ignored the governor's budget recommendations and has failed to include specific funding for expansion. Cancer patients cannot wait for legal battles to access the life-saving coverage that Medicaid expansion provides. ACS CAN is calling on the governor to lead our state and expansion forward. This year alone, 37,390 will hear the words "you have cancer" and 12,960 Missourians will pass away from cancer.  None of them should suffer a day without the healthcare that over 670,000 Missourians voted into the Missouri Constitution."
