Senators Reject Amendment to Eliminate Critical Prevention Fund Dollars

The U.S. Senate today rejected an amendment to the combined Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies and Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2017 that threatened to eliminate dollars for the Prevention and Public Health Fund (the Prevention Fund). We won! After a wave of emails, Facebook posts and tweets from ACS CAN volunteers, Congress agreed to renew the breast cancer research stamp. ACS CAN joined with other breast cancer organizations in support of renewing the stamp that has already raised more than $80 million for breast cancer research.
