ACSí Se Puede Hispanic/Latino Advocacy Alliance > Meet the Advocacy Alliance Members

Sobeida Santana JosephHow long you have been involved with ACS and/or ACS CAN:  Approximately 5 years with ACS and 2 with ACS CAN

Your cancer patient, survivor, caregiver, and/or connection story:  I have spent most of my career in oncology as a clinical nurse and administrator.  The twenty years of experience did not prepare me to take care of my mother who was recently diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer.  The journey is lonely, and I am an expert in the field.  I worry about our Hispanic/Latino patients that do not understand guidelines, etc. and must navigate a diagnosis of cancer.

Why health equity is important to you and/or why you are founding member of this group:  It is our obligation to speak up for populations that cannot speak for themselves.
