Roberto García Rodríguez is a seasoned executive and board leader with more than three decades of experience across healthcare, insurance, telecommunications, financial and legal services. He currently serves on the board of Oriental Financial Group (NYSE: OFG), where he chairs the audit committee, and on the board of the Puerto Rico chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Mr. García retired in 2022 as president and chief executive officer of Triple-S Management Corporation, a leading multi-line insurer and BlueCross BlueShield affiliate in Puerto Rico. The company was publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: GTS) prior to its acquisition by GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation. He led Triple-S through a period of sustained growth and transformation in a highly complex environment, including its transition from a public company to a private organization.
He was the founding president of the Puerto Rico chapter of CEOs Against Cancer and served as president of the Medicaid and Medicare Advantage Products Association of Puerto Rico, reflecting his longstanding commitment to healthcare advocacy and community service.
Mr. García holds degrees from Harvard University and Stanford University and will be a Fellow at Stanford’s Distinguished Careers Institute in 2027–2028.
Outside the boardroom, he enjoys time with family, traveling, and competing in Ironman 70.3 triathlons, qualifying for this year's World Championship in his age group.
