Press Conference Kicks Off Campaign for a Cancer-Free Maine

Advocates, legislators and American Cancer Society staff attended a press conference to kick off the Campaign for a Cancer-Free Maine on Friday, March 20th at the State House.

Prior to the press conference, there was a legislative hearing for LD 781 " An Act To Create a Specialty State Lottery Ticket To Benefit Cancer Education and Awareness."  LD 781 is one of several bills sponsored by Representative Meredith Strang Burgess to fund the Maine Comprehensive Cancer Plan.  Volunteers and staff testified in favor of this legislation.
