November Volunteer Fundraising Spotlight
Vaughn Summers decided to put his caring heart and love for games together to create a new way to fundraise for ACS CAN. On November 14, 2026, The Boardroom of Charleston, and Hurricane, will host a fund-raising event for the ACS CAN called, "Calling All Clerics". The Boardroom is a locally owned and operated business that hosts game-playing to all comers, with their extensive library of games to lend, or sell, and the space to do just that in both locations with areas specifically designated to throw dice or deal cards.
When Vaughn contacted, Josh Owens, the owner of The Boardroom to tell him about an opportunity to help the ACS CAN, he immediately responded with an enthusiastic all-hands-on-deck attitude, excited to give back and express an appreciation for the blessings he and his family had received in pursuing their dream of being business owners.
Also joining the endeavor is Bryan Cooper of Arts Amplified WV, who brings fund-raising experience and logistical know-how to the event. Bryan so thoughtfully designed a logo for the event and has been one-hundred percent supportive in every stage of development.
After getting everyone onboard, the only question left was, "What do we call it?" Eventually we landed on Calling All Clerics, borrowing from gamer parlance, a "Cleric" is someone you always want in your adventuring party because their role is to heal. And that's exactly the idea here, to raise money in support of the ACS CAN to continue the adventure, to continue to heal!
