New Poll Reveals Americans Are Foregoing Lifesaving Treatment and Cancer Screenings Due to Economic Downturn

Nationwide health care reform that benefits cancer patients would work for all Americans.
ACS CAN released a national bipartisan poll this week on the impact of the economic downturn on access to lifesaving cancer prevention and treatment.

Four in 10 Americans feel they would not be able to afford all of the treatment and care needed if they were suddenly diagnosed with cancer.

The poll data also revealed that the public's fear of losing health insurance is growing.

One in five Americans with health insurance feel it is likely they or someone in their household will lose coverage over the next year.
