Legislative Wins in Connecticut

Governor Malloy signedξfour important pieces of legislationξinto law in Connecticut on July 13, 2011.ξ SB 21 - Provides for coverage of normal out-of-pocket expenses related to participation in cancer and chronic disease clinical trials; SB 396 - Expands existing prostate cancer screening coverage to also include coverage for treatment of prostate cancer; SB 1083 - Prohibits the insurance practice of step therapy; andξHB 6472 -Expands coverage for ostomy supplies from $1000 annually to $2500 annually (the first increase since the original law passed over ten years ago).ξ These legislative victories are critical for cancer patients and their families in the State of Connecticut.ξ Well done!
