As lawmakers dive into the 2023 legislative session, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) urges Speaker Huston, Rep. Thompson, and Sen. Bray and Mishler to prioritize significantly increasing taxes on all tobacco products and investing in fact-based tobacco prevention and cessation programs to ease the burden of cancer on Hoosiers.

Today, Gov. DeWine vetoed HB 513, which would have restricted the authority of communities to pass local laws regulating the sale of tobacco products that are stronger than state law.
