Cancer patients and their families hit with a disappointing blow

December 23, 2010

ACS CAN fought all year for an increase in cancer research funding, but at the last minute, the U.S. Senate called off a vote for a bill that would have included a funding increase for cancer research and prevention programs. This leaves us, as of now, without an increase in federal funding for cancer research, screenings and prevention for 2011. ThatŠ—Ès money that would have gone directly to improving the lives of millions of Americans. But ACS CAN will continue to do more in the New Year for cancer patients and their families, and we hope you will join us. Stay tuned for ways you can help in 2011!
