Following the 2010 election cycle, ACS CAN volunteers did not miss a beat in meeting with their new Members of Congress to share with them the importance of funding cancer research. During these meetings, volunteers had a simple question for the new Congress: will you commit to work for a doubling of cancer research funding over the next eight years? After months of delay and hard negotiations, Congress has finally passed a funding bill! The bill includes a small increase for cancer research and prevention programs.
