Letter: Bill supports biomarker testing

What an amazing whirlwind of a day today! Our patient advocates and their caregivers successfully made it to Washington for ACS CAN's "Surviving the System" Lobby Day, each with his or her own personal story of how theyÈve fallen through the cracks of the current health insurance system. Today's Lobby Day training was was focused on empowering our cancer survivors to share these stories with their elected officials on Capitol Hill tomorrow. They've come to Washington with exuberance and unmatched gusto. They understand the power of advocacy and they know their voice can add authentic depth to the health care reform debate.
Today marked a new page for ACS CAN. It was a touchstone of what truly makes ACS CAN a leading patient voice in the health care reform debate. Our cancer survivors personify the worst problems in the current health insurance system. They are here to make sure their voices heard in the hall of Congress. These are mothers, fathers, husbands and daughters who - in wake of a cancer diagnosis - know the critical importance of acting NOW on comprehensive health care reform, not later.
Today was a great day. And we're just getting started!
