Lights of Hope at the Des Moines Marathon

March spotlight

Marshall Chisare Ndhlovu brings extraordinary heart and purpose to his role as an ACS CAN Legislative Ambassador. After losing his father to multiple myeloma at just 50, Marshall has transformed his grief into powerful advocacy. An immigrant from Zimbabwe who came to the U.S. at 18 with only $10, he has built an inspiring life of resilience — becoming a U.S. citizen, graduating from Drake University, and conquering law school.

This year, Marshall is dedicating his Lights of Hope fundraiser and his Des Moines Marathon run to his father and to every family touched by cancer. His strength, compassion, and commitment to fighting for better cancer policies make Marshall an outstanding volunteer and a true source of hope in our community. He has raised $1,560 of his $700 goal!!
