Why are you a cancer advocate?
I am a triple negative breast cancer survivor; I volunteer for ACS CAN because I know the power of our voices. This is the one thing I can do to fight cancer and advocate to make care more accessible for everyone – not just cancer patients.
What is your proudest accomplishment as an ACS CAN volunteer?
Every time I go to the State Capitol in Atlanta and speak directly with lawmakers "at the ropes" outside the House and Senate chambers or sit with a Legislator in an office on Capitol Hill and share my story. In those moments, I am able to remind them that our fight is not just a budget line-item; it’s about people and the lives behind every policy decision.
