Iowa Legislators’ Medicaid Cuts Threaten Cancer Care for 180,000 Iowans

Des Moines, Iowa – “Iowa has the 2nd highest cancer rates in the country and our cancer rates continue to rise year over year. The State Legislature’s votes to cut Medicaid expansion will plunge our state deeper into this cancer crisis. Iowa Medicaid serves as a lifeline for many workers, veterans, and our rural hospitals. Cutting Medicaid expansion puts the critical health care for 180,000 Iowans at risk. Iowa lawmakers must do better.”
