Medicaid Cuts Threaten Utahns – Cancer Advocates Urge Sen. Curtis to Oppose

Tuesday, Utah advocates with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) delivered nearly 1,000 petitions signed by constituents to Sen. John Curtis’ district office in Salt Lake City, urging him to protect Medicaid by opposing any cuts to the program. The postcards highlighted how looming cuts to Medicaid would harm Utahns, including working families, cancer patients and survivors, pregnant women, people with disabilities, seniors, veterans and children.

Utah Cancer Advocates Rally Lawmakers at State Capitol for ‘Cancer Action Day’

Volunteer advocates from across Utah, including cancer survivors, patients and caregivers, rallied at the state Capitol on Tuesday for ‘Cancer Action Day,’ an event hosted annually by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN). Advocates gathered inside the capitol rotunda to meet with their state lawmakers and urge them to support policies that aid in the fight against cancer.

Utahns Affected by Cancer Honored at State Capitol

Cancer survivors, patients, and caregivers gathered on the steps of the Utah State Capitol to honor Utahns affected by the disease, Saturday evening. The event was organized by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) as part of Lights of Hope Across America, the organization’s signature fundraiser aimed at strengthening the mission of reducing the cancer burden for everyone. The powerful display included dozens of lit bags, each representing a Utahn touched by the disease.

Cancer Patients, Survivors Rally Support for Reduced Out-of-Pocket Drug Costs

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH– February 2, 2024 –Dozens of cancer survivors, patients, providers, and caregivers rallied at the state capitol Friday, asking lawmakers to support a bill to reduce out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for Utahns. SB 152, sponsored by Rep. Curtis Bramble, was the focus of ‘Utah Cancer Action Day,’ an event hosted annually by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN).
