AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY CANCER ACTION NETWORK PRESENTS
HEALTH EQUITY: FROM A CANCER PERSPECTIVE
OCTOBER 27, 2021
9:00 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. VIRTUAL PROGRAM
The American Cancer Society and the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) have an ambitious goal to achieve a 40% reduction in cancer mortality in the United States by 2035. To achieve this goal, we must fight to achieve, health equity so that all Virginians have equal access to quality health care by removing obstacles such as poverty, discrimination, and their consequences. We will specifically focus on access to care in the cancer space.
Join us as we bring together leading health care providers, industry leaders, faith-based organizations, and public policy experts as we address the following topics:
- What are the barriers for improving health equity for cancer patients and their families in underserved communities and regions?
- How can improved access to health care decrease cancer mortality rates in Virginia?
- What policies does ACS CAN advocate for that will ensure access to quality, affordable and comprehensive health care for all cancer patients and their families in the Commonwealth?
