Texas Cancer Action Week
Cancer Action Day looks a little different this year
This year, we are hosting a fully virtual Cancer Action Week March 29-31, 2021. We will have similar activities as our traditional "Day at the Capitol," including advocacy training and lawmaker meetings, but you'll find some new and exciting activities for all to join in.
The best news out of all this? You can successfully advocate for cancer patients and their families from the comfort of your own home!
You don't have to be an expert on advocacy - sharing your story can make a HUGE difference for cancer patients!
Our key priorities this session:
- Secure funding for the essential work of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas
- Advocate for full state funding for the Texas Breast and Cervical Cancer Program
- Protect funding for the Texas Tobacco Prevention and Control Program
- Update Texas statute on colorectal cancer screening to meet the new American Cancer Society and USPSTF guidelines of 45 and over, plus follow up screening coverage
There is no cost to attend this event, but registration is required.
