For too long, Big Tobacco has used cheap, sweet products to entice our kids to use their deadly products.  They target LGBTQ, rural, low-income, and black and brown communities with discounts and advertising, all to sell their deadly products.  This needs to stop!

At ACS CAN, our focus this year is to continue to loosen Big Tobacco’s grip on ALL Maine residents.  We’ll work to:

  • increase the cigarette tax by $2.00/pack;
  • increase funding for the state’s tobacco prevention and treatment program;
  • and end the sale of ALL flavored tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and menthol cigarettes.

We hope you'll join us to learn more about why this is our 2021 priority and the decades long history of how Big Tobacco has targeted communities in Maine. We’ll review our plan, update you on our partners, and share actions you can take to help save lives from tobacco-related cancers.
