2020 West Virginia Cancer Policy Forum
The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) will host its annual West Virginia policy forum virtually on September 25th, 2020 at 10 am . The event will feature perspectives from leaders in policy, health, business and academia, and explore the intersection of public policy and cancer prevention.
Forum Focus: Tobacco Control in WV
More than 12,000 West Virginians will be diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and the decisions made at the Capitol or in the White House can be just as consequential for those patients as the decisions made in their doctor’s office.
This program will provide an opportunity to bring together leaders in business, public health and patient advocacy, as well as elected officials to share evidence-based initiatives and potential public policy solutions for reducing high tobacco use rates including e-cigarette use in WV.
Q: How can we help get kids off on the right foot with policy changes in West Virginia around tobacco prevention and education initiatives?
Q: What policies can we pass to help address the e-cigarette epidemic in West Virginia?
