in support of a bill (A7218) to prohibit the use of indoor tanning devices by minors under the age of 18.

NEW YORK, NY – MAY 24, 2017 – Cancer survivors and caregivers from across New York City traveled to city hall today to meet with lawmakers about the need to increase the price of tobacco products and reduce access.
The New York State Assembly has passed legislation (A.516, Rosenthal) that if also passed by the State Senate and signed into law by Governor Cuomo will prohibit the use of e-cigarettes in public places where smoking is prohibited.
Following New York State’s budget, agreement, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) has expressed its shock and dismay that the interests of tobacco and e-cigarette lobbyists are being put before public health.
ALBANY, NY - April 3, 2017 – As Governor Cuomo and New York State legislators continue to work on a budget for the new fiscal year, breast cancer survivors expressed their dismay and are calling on Albany to say NO to cuts in lifesaving cancer screenings.
NEW YORK, NY – January 24, 2017 – Mayor Bill de Blasio has released his preliminary budget plan for 2018. He has allocated $7.4 million to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for tobacco control and cessation efforts in the package.
